Dogs and Cats of Antigua is always looking for volunteers to help with a number of needs at a number of locations. If you or anyone else you know on the Island have the time and resources to help, the dogs and cats you save will be forever grateful. Below are a number of different areas our organization always needs help:

  • Volunteers with cars to help with vet runs, rescue pickups, etc.
  • Administrative Volunteer to manage our microchip registrations and help with organizing our animal database. Can be virtual.
  • Adoptions & Travel Buddy Volunteer to help screen overseas adopters, match animals with their future families, and coordinate travel buddy bookings.
  • Fosters are always needed in Antigua and overseas in key cities in the Northeast.
  • Fundraising Volunteers
    • Help distribute and sell calendars, foodie raffle tickets, etc.
    • Work the phone to solicit donations with individuals and businesses and creates more exposure for us with on and offline media.
  • Facility Construction Volunteers to help with building and upkeep of the Sanctuary, including fencing, painting, planting trees, etc.
  • Community Engagement Volunteers:
    • Start working with the police and reporting abuse cases and follow ups, work with a lawyer to get these abuse cases in court. These animals need someone who will persevere until we get these cases in court and the perpetrators tried and fined.
    • Going door to door to check on dogs that are starving and sick, do follow up, and create a database.
  • Sanctuary Volunteers:
    • Work daily 4 hour shifts at the facility (8-12 and 12-4) – to walk and socialize the dogs, feed the dogs, help clean the pens, cut grass, grounds work, gardening, vet runs or assisting our vet, airport runs. fostering newborns, rescue work and help with rehoming.
    • Work with the vet on our spay neuter programs as well as set them up.
    • Manage the catterie, pick up and return the cats from Sandals and start programs with other hotels so we can get the cats spayed and neutered.
    • Work with dogs at the Spring Hill Riding Club stables & Halima’s: walking, leash training, socializing, etc.
